The ARTAS system only requires the physician and one other staff member to operate. Patients receiving ARTAS Robotic Hair Transplant are placed in a semi-prone position in the ARTAS system chair. They are shaved and have a skin tightener, which improves precision and control of the punch, placed on the scalp in the area the first grafts will be removed. The robotic arm is placed overhead and scans the patients head and selects groups of one to three hairs to be removed. It automatically targets and removes grafts at random. The surgeon then makes tiny incisions called graft sites. He and the assistant will then plant the newly harvested grafts in the recipient areas.
