Duncanville is loaded with talent, including two of the biggest recruits in the nation in Keelon Russell and Dakorien Moore.

Russell, a 5-star QB and Alabama commit, is ranked No. 3 nationally in 247 Sports' Class of 2025 rankings, choosing the Crimson Tide over other big schools such as Florida, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Moore sits one spot behind his QB in the national rankings, but he is the top-ranked wide receiver in the country. He'll be playing football for Oregon next year, picking the Ducks over top-tier programs like Texas, LSU, Ohio State and Alabama.

Together, the two seniors give Duncanville one of the most explosive offenses in the nation, best exemplified by this 72-yard touchdown connection.

The Panthers, the nation's No. 2 ranked team, hit the road to take on Cedar Hill to close out 6A District 11 play in Week 10 on Friday night. D'Ville already clinched a district title.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Central time) and the game is being streamed live on the NFHS Network (subscription required).

Cedar Hill is on the outside looking into the playoff picture and is coming off of three consecutive losses, most revently a 56-36 loss to Horn last week.

Its last win came on Oct. 11, a 28-14 defeat of Mesquite.

5-star Alabama football commit shines in storied Texas rivalry: 'I’m a game-changer'

DESOTO, Texas — Keelon Russell had a banner night, yet the Alabama pledge left Eagle Stadium feeling like Duncanville could’ve done better in the Texas high school football rivalry game of the year on Friday night.

“We left a lot of points on the board today,” the Panthers quarterback said after a 42-20 win over DeSoto in a battle of nationally-ranked powers.

He said in a postgame interview he hopes the offense can put up 60 points next week. The Panthers will be at home next week when Lancaster visits — the only other undefeated team in District 11-6A with an identical 3-0 record.

Duncanville was off last week but for the past two games, Russell has been arguably the nation's best high school quarterback this fall — a notion exemplified in his now-back-to-back 400-plus yard games.

After throwing for 474 and 5 TDs against Dallas Skyline, he threw for 429 and 6 TDs against a state championship team in DeSoto.

“I probably could’ve thrown for 8 (touchdowns) but I won’t be too cocky,” Russell said.

His 6-TD effort matched a career-best — coming on Sept. 20 against Waxahachie — but he showcased his 5-star ranking throughout the win against a DeSoto team that handed Class 6A Division I champions their only loss last year.

“I’m a game-changer, I’m an athlete,” Russell said. “One thing I can do is throw and the other is run and the other is use my mind, use my brain. I’m very smart and I know when the blitz is coming. They were sending 7 protection and they got me a little bit … not too much. I got away from it. I’m very smart and very athletic. I can do a lot of things with my hands and I can do a lot of things with my feet.”

An example of that came on a touchdown to Oregon pledge Dakorien Moore for 38 yards, which made it 21-7 — after a kickoff return for a score by DeSoto trimmed the deficit in half.

Russell avoided a sack at the 47-yard line while scrambling to his right from DeSoto defensive tackle Semaj Walker-Blaylock. Russell got to the 40-yard line and threw it to Moore, a fellow 5-star recruit in the corner of the end zone.

“Ya’ll don’t know how bad I’ve been struggling on that in practice,” Russell said the pass. “Our defense is freaking on fire and you can’t get nothing. The window was tight but as a QB you have to make things happen for your team and get open guys the ball … so it ain’t too much.”

In the first half, Moore had 5 catches for 179 yards and 4 touchdowns from Russell, who had 241 yards passing.

For the year, Russell is just under 2,000 yards passing with 25 touchdowns and no interceptions. He threw for 3,267 yards and 35 scores as a second-year starter last year for the Panthers.

With the DeSoto hurdle cleared the Panthers can eye a chance for an undefeated state championship season. There are a lot of games ahead but it wouldn’t be a shock if Duncanville plays Galena Park North Shore in the finals again.

“We’ve been executing every week and we are getting better every week,” Russell said. “Come North Shore (week) we will be real sweet and be real sexy.”

Dakorien Moore, Keelon Russell and nationally-ranked Duncanville are back in action on Friday night as they hit the road to take on Horn in a Texas high school football battle.

The 6-0 Panthers are ranked No. 3 in the latest SBLive/SI Top 25 national high school football rankings, and they are fresh off of a dominant 41-7 win over Lancaster last week.

Horn has had a rough go of it this year, as the Jaguars come into this game 1-6 and on the heels of a 4-game losing streak.

FOURTH QUARTER

The Panthers tried to add three to their lead, but Batres' 35-yard attempt bounces off the left upright and kicks back into the end zone. Under a minute to go in the third.

TOUCHDOWN DUNCANVILLE! Jaqualon Armstrong Armstrong punches it in from three yards out and Duncanville leads 45-7 less than two minutes into the second half.

The Panthers strike quickly with a 64-yard pass out of the backfield to Thues and are immediately in the red zone.

Horn had the ball to begin the half but a quick three-and-out leads to a 35-yard punt and Duncanville has the ball their own 30-yard-line.

HALFTIME: DUNCANVILLE 38, HORN 7

SECOND QUARTER

TOUCHDOWN DUNCANVILLE! Russell throws his fourth touchdown of the night on a 72-yard strike throw to Moore, who makes a finger-tip catch and takes it in for the score. Duncanville leads 38-7 with 20 seconds on the first half clock.

TOUCHDOWN JAGUARS! Cedonyae Lott catches a backward pass and takes it 80 yards to get Horn on the board. Jaguars trail 31-7 with 50 seconds left in the half.

DUNCANVILLE FIELD GOAL: Jonathan Batres hits a 32-yard field goal and it's 31-0 Duncanville with 4:48 left until halftime.

PREGAME

It was more of the same for Duncanville last week as the Panthers turned in a workmanlike performance against the Tigers.

Keelon Russell had three first-half touchdown passes to help Duncanville build a 28-7 halftime lead, and he found Zach Turner on a 17-yard strike early in the third quarter to cap his evening.

Turner finished with three total touchdowns, the last of which was a 69-yard touchdown strike from backup QB J'Coryon Rivers.
