Plastic Surgery in Lancaster, TX

Some things in life are simply inevitable, like getting older. As we age, things begin to change in our lives. We learn to let things go and to smile more. We have more financial freedom to do things and see things that we've wanted to see and do for years. But on the flip side of the coin, our bodies begin to change, too. Breasts start to sag a little more than they did in years past. More fat starts to make itself known around your midsection, neck, arms, and stomach.

Wrinkles and fine lines start to become more pronounced. In the past, we were taught to just deal with the signs of aging. But in modern times, there are safe, innovative ways to recapture the incomparable feeling of youth. If you're getting more and more self-conscious about how you look, it could be time to work with a plastic surgeon in Lancaster, TX, like Dr. Mark Bishara of Paragon Plastic Surgery.

Body Contouring: Lifting Loose Skin After Substantial Weight Loss

Shape

The obesity epidemic in the United States and worldwide has prompted numerous programs aimed at reducing Body Mass Index (BMI) for individuals' well-being. However, substantial weight loss cannot disregard real-world physics. As a result of weight loss, bodily components such as skin and fat deposits undergo significant changes in tension and size, which may not adjust accordingly. Bariatric weight loss surgery has helped many people achieve their BMI goals and lead healthier lives, but it has also increased the need for body contouring following weight loss. If you made the choice to get healthy and lose weight but are left with unattractive and frustrating loose skin, it could be time to speak with a plastic surgeon in Lancaster, TX.

The goal of body contouring is to remove excess skin for both cosmetic and functional reasons. Large hanging skin folds can be considered unappealing from an aesthetic standpoint, and frequent chafing between functional and excess skin can make daily activities uncomfortable, potentially leading to skin infections. Additionally, moisture trapped between loose skin folds can create an ideal environment for bacterial growth, posing hygiene issues for the patient.

While it's feasible to perform a full body lift in one session, most doctors prefer to divide body contouring surgeries into multiple sessions for the patient's safety and comfort. At Paragon Plastic Surgery, our body contouring procedures are split up into a few of the most common areas on which we operate, including:

Breast lifts reshape your breasts and reposition your areolas by removing excess skin below the breasts and moving the nipples higher. The skin above your breasts is also adjusted to create a more youthful contour. This surgery can also be combined with breast augmentation to fill any volume loss, and the areolas can be resized if needed.

 Aesthetic Treatments Lancaster, TX

The arm lift procedure aims to achieve a more youthful appearance by removing excess fat and skin from your underarms. This is common in women but can also occur in men after significant weight loss. The incision is made beneath your arm and may extend from the elbow to the armpit, depending on the amount of skin that needs to be removed. Most patients are satisfied with the results and consider the trade-off of "skin for scars" worthwhile, especially when the scars are effectively concealed by your plastic surgeon in city, state.

 Facial Rejuvenation Lancaster, TX

A lower body lift includes a thigh lift, and a buttock lift to remove excess skin. The thigh lift is like an arm lift, with incisions made based on the location of excess skin. The buttock lift doesn't involve implants, but fat from other areas can be used to enhance the shape. Overall, the skin cutting and repositioning performed by Dr. Bishara is safe and provides welcome results after bariatric surgery or extreme weight loss.

 Body Contouring Lancaster, TX

A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that involves tightening your abdominal walls and removing excess skin to create a flatter abdomen. The surgery is typically performed under either local or general anesthesia. It begins with an incision along the bikini line and the removal of the belly button. After the abdominal wall is tightened, the excess skin is pulled down, and a new belly button is created. This procedure is moderately invasive, and it usually takes about two to three weeks before patients can resume exercising.

Face Lifts and Implants: Reclaiming a More Youthful "You"

Shape

In today's day and age, aesthetic impressions matter more than at any other time in history. Whether we're meeting a new person or reconvening with an old friend, one of the first places we look is at their face. When a person has sunken cheeks, deep wrinkles, and drooping foreheads, we tend to think they're angry or disheveled. If you're worried about unattractive features on your face that affect your daily life, you're not alone. Millions of men and women around the U.S. aren't happy with features like thin lips and frown lines.

By working with a plastic surgeon in city, state, like Dr. Bishara at Paragon Plastic Surgery, you can reclaim a more youthful you with the safe and effective procedures below.

Brow and Eyelid lifts can rejuvenate sagging or wrinkled foreheads, giving you a more relaxed and youthful appearance. By using either traditional or minimally invasive techniques, the muscles above the eyes are adjusted to smooth out lines and lift the eyebrows. This procedure is often combined with others to enhance the overall look of your eyes.

Full cheeks play a significant role in how we perceive a person's face, whether we realize it or not. Cheek implants can have a big impact on your self-confidence, especially if your cheeks have thinned due to aging, illness, or other reasons. The sizes and shapes of the implants we use are customized to fit your desired appearance, giving you a personalized experience and look.

Reshaping your chin with implants can help create a more balanced appearance with your other facial features. Chin enhancement is commonly suggested for individuals getting rhinoplasty to achieve better facial harmony, as the size of the chin can either accentuate or diminish the apparent size of the nose and vice versa.

A facelift can reverse the effects of aging, gravity, sun exposure, and stress by eliminating fat, tightening skin and muscles, and giving your face a rejuvenated, more youthful appearance. Many of our patients report looking 10 to 15 years younger after undergoing a facelift performed by a plastic surgeon in city, state from Paragon Plastic Surgery.

A neck lift is a surgical procedure that can smooth and tighten the skin on your neck to provide a more toned and youthful appearance. This procedure offers a drastic improvement to the appearance of your neck, and subtle changes to your overall appearance.

Hair Restoration: An Innovative Solution for Baldness and Thinning Hair

Shape

Hair loss can be caused by side effects from medication, aging, genetics, or scalp injuries with scarring. It affects both men and women of all ages, leading to pattern baldness, patchy spots, or thinning hair. Many people find this change in their appearance distressing and are frustrated by the lack of effective treatments. Thankfully, there are several minimally invasive and affordable treatments available to promote hair growth or restore hair loss. These treatments can help patients regain confidence as they enjoy thick, full, and beautiful hair once again.

Dr. Mark Bishara is proud to offer a wide range of comprehensive hair restoration procedures, including the following:

 Aesthetic Treatments Lancaster, TX
Laser Hair Therapy

The Xtrallux Extreme RX Hair Regrowth Laser Cap utilizes a unique form of laser light proven to enhance circulation and trigger cellular metabolism in and around the scalp's hair follicles. Unlike the lasers employed for cosmetic skin procedures and tattoo removal, the Xtrallux doesn't cause any damage to the skin cells. Instead, it employs low-level, cool-to-the-touch lasers for hair restoration.

 Facial Rejuvenation Lancaster, TX
Non-Surgical Hair Restoration with PRP

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) Therapy involves extracting a small amount of your blood and separating the platelets and plasma. After being combined in a centrifuge, the mix is then injected just under your scalp in the areas where hair growth is desired. Researchers suggest that the hormones and growth factors in platelet-rich plasma play a crucial role in stimulating renewed hair growth and transforming thin hair into thicker, fuller strands.

 Body Contouring Lancaster, TX
Surgical Treatments for Hair Growth

Many men and women choose non-surgical hair restoration because it's minimally invasive. However, if you have severe hair loss or you have tried other procedures with no luck, it might be time to see a plastic surgeon in Lancaster, TX. Surgical hair restoration procedures are specifically designed to deliver effective results with minimal downtime and without causing damage to surrounding hair follicles. Dr. Bishara from Paragon Plastic Surgery possesses extensive experience in performing these advanced procedures and will assist you in determining the most suitable approach for achieving the best possible results.

What our patients say

Depending on your needs, surgical hair growth options from Paragon may be the best course of action. Common surgical hair restoration procedures include the following:

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a minimally invasive hair restoration procedure that moves the patient's own hair - graft by graft - to maximize the likelihood of regrowth after it has been transplanted in the balding area.

Eyebrow restoration involves inserting single-hair micro-grafts into the eyebrows using a needle at a specific angle, creating a natural appearance customized to fit the patient's goals.

Dr. Bishara's FUT method of hair restoration surgery involves transplanting natural, individual follicular units for the most natural results. The procedure involves trimming the hair short, numbing the scalp, removing follicles, and placing them in the recipient area. Sutures are placed in the donor area, which are usually hidden by the patient's hair. Patients can resume normal hair care after a week, and hair growth typically begins about three months after the procedure.

Temporal Peaks Restoration restores a natural and youthful hairline by recreating the temporal peaks, the areas at the front of the head that are common sites of hair loss. This procedure helps frame the face and define a person's appearance by transplanting hair to recreate a natural hairline.

From the first time you walk into Paragon Plastic Surgery, you'll know that you are in a place that cares about results. “Lancaster’s historic downtown is both a personal and community treasure,” Clark said. “It’s been my honor to contribute to its preservation and evolution over the years, and I’m thrilled to see the next generation carrying forward this legacy.”

Clark is also overseeing the renovation of The Historic Lancaster Theatre, bridging her original revitalization efforts with new generations of investors.

LANCASTER, Texas — In the growing City of Lancaster, three fire stations serve more than 41,000 residents.

On October 7, an ambulance, Medic 1, was taken out of service for minor repairs.

"It happens all the time. Things break," said Brett Cook, President of the Lancaster Professional Firefighters Association.

Cook says typically, they would use a backup reserve unit, but that was out-of-service too. So the next option was to use an ambulance.

"Get into an ambulance loaned from another city or respond in a squad-style vehicle," said Cook.

However, on October 7 that didn't happen either. Cook believes it left the Lancaster Fire Department understaffed with only 16 members on duty, breaking city policy.

"Policy 1.07 and 1.08," said Cook.

The procedure states: It is the policy of the Lancaster Fire Department to have minimum staffing on duty of 18 members per shift...

The policy was approved and signed into effect by Fire Chief Kenneth Johnson in 2022.

"The first time in the city's history, we decided to send two people home because they didn't have a vehicle to ride," said Cook. "When we take two members away, we're now at a handicap."

The Lancaster Professional Firefighters Association posted the situation on their Facebook page to let citizens know their concerns.

Medic 1 was back in service in less than 24 hours. But Cook is worried that dropping staffing levels below policy minimums could happen again.

The City of Lancaster said in a statement to WFAA, "Regarding the recent concerns raised about Medic 1 temporarily being out of service, it is important to clarify that this was a strategic internal decision made in alignment with operational procedures. At no time was the safety of our community jeopardized. Medic 1 was returned to service promptly. Within less than 24hrs, Medic 1 was placed back in service and the city’s emergency response remained fully capable throughout this brief period."

Above the Lancaster Professional Firefighters Association, the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters (TSAFF) stepped in, sending a grievance letter to Lancaster city leaders on Monday. The letter is beyond the staffing concerns and discusses their concerns about Chief Johnson's leadership.

"When he drops the staffing below minimum standards, absolutely, he is putting those firefighters and the citizens of Lancaster at risk," said John Riddle, President of TSAFF.

Riddle's letter refers to a church sermon on October 13 at a church in Lancaster where Chief Johnson also serves as the pastor. The sermon was live-streamed on Facebook and has since been deleted. To his church members, Johnson referred to Brett Cook and said, "The President of the Association came to meet with me. Wanted to try to explain to me his position."

During the sermon, Johnson described his perspective.

"It was to the benefit of the city, the benefit of the citizens, but it wasn't to their benefit so they were coming after me," Johnson said.

He continued to preach, "False prophets still exist, but when they post you on Facebook."

He uses terms like "devil" and "Satan", prompting TSAFF to step in.

"It is absolutely an inappropriate setting. There is no reason for him to be at his church preaching a sermon and calling the people that he represents demons. That is ridiculous," said Riddle. "Does the city support and condone the fire chief's actions?"

In a statement to WFAA, the City of Lancaster said, "We have received the letter from the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters (TSAFF), which reflects a difference of opinion on internal management processes, not the quality or reliability of our public safety services. While we respect the views of TSAFF, it is critical to underscore that this is not an issue of public safety but rather a procedural disagreement related to the operational decisions.

The City of Lancaster will continue to manage staffing and resources efficiently, always with the safety of our citizens at the forefront. We are confident in our ability to provide exceptional emergency services."

Fire Chief Johnson did not respond to WFAA's request for an interview.

WFAA also reached out to all Lancaster City Council members and did not hear a response at the time of publication.

Former Duncanville girls basketball players Kaylinn Kemp and Kenidi Glover were ruled ineligible for transferring to Lancaster for athletic purposes, two people with knowledge of the situation told The Dallas Morning News on Thursday.

The 11-6A district executive committee met Wednesday and made the ruling on Kemp and Glover after they were among four Lancaster transfers who began last season at Class 6A state champion Duncanville. Former Duncanville coach LaJeanna Howard was announced as Lancaster’s new head coach in June.

Kemp was a second-team all-area selection in 2023, when she averaged a team-high 14.8 points for Duncanville, and she was a key player for last season’s state championship team and started in Duncanville’s 59-41 win over South Grand Prairie in the Class 6A state title game. Glover began last season at Duncanville before leaving to go to Legion Prep Academy.

Howard won state titles at Duncanville as a player (2003), assistant coach (2016) and head coach (2020), but she was suspended for the 2022-23 season by the UIL, which also banned Duncanville from the playoffs that season because of a rules violation. Her last time coaching there was the 2021-22 season, when Kemp and Glover were both on Duncanville’s varsity.

The University Interscholastic League prohibits students from transferring for athletic purposes. Transfers have become a hot-button issue, as the UIL said this summer that as many as 15,000 athletes could transfer to Texas high schools this school year, either changing schools within the state or moving in from out of state.

Kemp and Glover can appeal the DEC’s decision to the UIL’s state executive committee. But last school year, the SEC denied 38 of the 45 appeals (84%) that were brought to the UIL.

Six players in all transferred to Lancaster, coaches at the girls’ previous schools told The Dallas Morning News in August. Other transfers who used to be at Duncanville and are now at Lancaster are Makenzie White and T’Anna Saddler. Saddler left Duncanville to attend Lincoln, and White came off the bench for Duncanville in the state championship game as the program won its 12th state title, third-most in UIL history.

The other two transfers to Lancaster are Monique Phoenix, a second-team all-district selection from North Crowley, and Jalynn Staten from Lincoln. Saddler and Staten helped Lancaster reach the Class 4A state semifinals last season.

Lancaster is the second Dallas-area girls basketball program to come under scrutiny this offseason because of transfers. UIL charter school Oak Cliff Faith Family added 13 transfers after hiring four-time state champion Andrea Robinson as its head coach, according to the 13-5A DEC, and Faith Family as a school, Robinson and assistant coaches Kadi Creel and Jordan Jones were found guilty by the DEC of recruiting violations, a lack of transparency and withholding information regarding the transfers.

The UIL’s state executive committee will meet next Wednesday to determine punishments for the school and the coaches. That is two days before UIL girls basketball teams can begin playing games.

A DEC hearing has not been scheduled yet to determine the varsity eligibility of the Faith Family transfers.

A committee of local school administrators determined the two students broke UIL rules when they transferred from Duncanville High to Lancaster High

LANCASTER, Texas — The parents of two Lancaster High School seniors said Thursday they plan to appeal a decision by a group of local school administrators suspending their daughters from the basketball team after determining they transferred to the school to play athletics, a violation of UIL rules.

Kaylinn Kemp and Kenidi Glover are among four students Duncanville ISD said transferred to Lancaster this season after the Lady Tigers hired Duncanville's former girls' basketball coach.

WFAA is naming the students with their parents' permission.

The district said Thursday the UIL decision was "unfortunate" and said it was supporting the students and families "during this difficult time."

Both families deny they moved to Lancaster to play basketball. "She doesn't choose where she lives," said Jerome Glover. "I didn’t see any problems because they say you supposed to play in the district you live in."

The Glover parents said they moved to Lancaster to mend their relationship. "Once we got back together, our entire family moved here," explained Lasonya Glover.

The parents of Kaylinn Kemp said they moved to Lancaster to make ends meet. "As parents, we made the best decision for Kaylinn and there’s no other way to get around it, that’s what it was," said Crystal Blackmon, Kaylinn's mom.

Both families expressed frustration that the district committee found they were in violation of the UIL rules, despite their explanations.

"It’s heartbreaking. Especially for your kid," said Luron Kemp, Kaylinn's father. "It’s something that they love, they desire to do and they do it at a high level. It’s a hurtful feeling."

The former Duncanville coach, who now leads the Lancaster team, faced a previous suspension for UIL violations -- including recruiting violations -- but told the committee that didn't happen here.

"I have learned from my mistake. I've done nothing illegal," LaJenna Howard said Wednesday.

But the committee found they broke the rules nonetheless. In a unanimous vote of 4-0, they suspended both students from varsity athletics for one year — essentially ending the seniors' high school career.

WFAA asked the committee for comment immediately following the transfer hearing, but they declined.

Both families said they plan to appeal. "It’s within our right of what happened and it’s something that we have to do," explained Lasonya Glover.
