The year is flying by. One year older, Yikes! The worst part is that not only do we add another number to our age but our appearance begins to change as well. Wrinkles start to show more and more. As if wrinkles weren’t bad enough our skin begins to droop as well. Sagging neck is a common one.
So what exactly causes a sagging neck?  At the Paragon Plastic Surgery and Medspa we know that loose skin is a part of aging but can also be genetics along with weight.  Dr Bishara says, “Excessive sun exposure can have a lot to do with it as well. ”  Yes, those uv rays can be very harmful!

What you can do to fix it!

At The Paragon Plastic Surgery and Med Spa we offer surgical and non-surgical treatments to help with aging skin. Facelifts have become quite popular with Dr. Mark Bishara as no one likes to look older nor have loose skin. A facelift counteracts the effects of aging, gravity, sun exposure and stress by removing fat and tightening skin and muscles, giving your face a fresher, more youthful look and reducing the appearance of wrinkles, creases and fat deposits. Many patients look 10 to 15 years younger after a facelift.
If surgery is not what your looking then a NIR Skin Tightening treatment can help. Near infrared technology is used to penetrate deep heat to the deepest layers of tissue. This stimulates collagen production and tightens lax skin. Nearly any patient seeking fuller, tighter skin can benefit from laser skin tightening as a safe, noninvasive and effective procedure. The laser skin tightening procedure can be fully customized to help each patient receive the best possible results, depending on the skin condition, size and location of the targeted area and the strength of the laser exposure.

One of the top things women think about as they age are the physical effects that come with getting older. No matter how many cremes, sunscreen, or moisturizers you use, nothing seems to give you the outcome you hope for. Looking in the mirror and continuing to feel disappointed with your trials can be frustrating. Here at Paragon Plastic Surgery & Med Spa, we want you to consider Clear Lift.

What is Clear Lift?

Clear Lift is a painless, non-ablative approach to laser skin resurfacing. Formally known as Pixel Q-switch, you will enjoy fast laser treatments with results that will be visible following each treatment. What makes Clear Lift unique compared to other treatments is that although it improves fine lines, wrinkles, and the appearance of small veins and redness, it treats areas that are too sensitive to treat with traditional lasers.

Paragon Plastic Surgery & Med Spa’s aestheticians perform Clear Lift on the face, neck chest, and other areas that you might be interested in treating. This is a great skin treatment that tightens your skin without harming the layer underneath your epidermis and has mainly been known for reducing the fine lines in your face.

What’s different about Clear Lift?

No one has to know that you came in and visited Paragon Plastic Surgery & Med Spa for Clear Lift because there is no down time and you will be able to apply makeup immediately following your appointment. In fact, many of our patients receive these treatments before special events such as weddings, reunions, or job interviews to that they can attend their event and have that rejuvenating glow. You can receive these treatments any time of the year and unlike many other lasers, Clear Lift is safe for all skin tones.  Clear Lift gives an intense, rapid pulse of laser to the area of skin that is being treated. Another advantage of Clear Lift is that it builds collagen. Collagen is the support structure that you need in your skin that makes you look more youthful.

If keeping your skin healthy is important to you and you want to look in the mirror and see the results that other alternatives haven’t given you, schedule your Clear Lift appointment with us today!

What To Expect From A Photofacial
A photofacial or IPL, is a 30-minute procedure in which intense pulses of light are used to penetrate deep into the skin. Photofacial then causes collagen and blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict, reducing redness and age lines. The procedure involves only minimal discomfort, while the redness and swelling that sometimes occur after treatment disappear shortly. Most benefits of a photofacial occur gradually in the weeks following treatment
DAY OF THE PROCEDURE
Before the procedure begins, make sure your skin is free of any tanning products or makeup. Avoid prolong sun exposure and any topical retinoids. Your skin will be cleansed and a cool gel will be applied to the treatment area, both to lubricate the handpiece and cool the skin. You will be given eye protection to protect your eyes from the bright flashes of light.
DURING THE PROCEDURE
During the IPL/photofacial procedure, you will feel a warm sensation caused by the handpiece. Some patients describe the sensation to a light “snap” from a rubber band. The number of pulses you receive will depend on the size of the area being treated. Following the procedure, your skin care specialist may help you in icing down the treatment area to help soothe any discomfort from the procedure. This is often unnecessary, however, as IPL/photofacial treatment causes very little pain.
AFTER THE PROCEDURE
The recovery time from an IPL skin procedure is often very short, as there is very little damage done to the skin during treatment. Depending on the skin condition you are seeking to remedy as well as your skin type, the redness that is present following the procedure may persist for a longer or shorter period of time. The side effects of IPL/photofacial treatment dissipate within a few hours for many patients. For some patients, however, the redness or dark spots may take a week to fade. Patients treated for severe acne sometimes experience longer recovery times, though they are often amazed by the results when the side effects wear off.

So we’ve all heard of Microdermabrasion , it has been around for many years. Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliation for the skin improving texture and tone. Now we’re hearing a lot of buzz about the Hydrafacial. It is a more advanced version sometimes referred to as ‘Wet Microdermabrasion’ treatment. This treatment is a new type of facial that provides deep pore cleansing, exfoliation of dead skin cells, extraction and skin hydration all at once. Unlike regular microdermabrasion, it can be done on all skin types, including very sensitive ones, and does not cause any redness. It’s especially great for rosacea and skin types with broken capillaries.
Hydration is the foundation of healthy, radiant skin. Irritation of the skin has been proven to increase signs of aging. The HydraFacial MD is a hydrating and non-irritating treatment that also decreases inflammation which is another leading cause of skin disorders.
The unique Vortex-Fusion serum delivery system is what sets the HydraFacial MD apart from the Microdermabrasion. The multi-step treatment cleanses, evenly exfoliates and extracts to remove impurities and dead skin cells while at the same time replenishing vital nutrients including Antioxidants, Peptides and Hyaluronic Acid. Thanks to the devices’ superior delivery system, these performing ingredients are able to more effectively help improve environmental damage, reduce fine lines & wrinkles, and plump & firm skin for long-term results you can see and feel instantly. Microdermabrasion simply uses suction to help clean out pores but does not infuse the skin with these beneficial ingredients.
Also unlike the Microdermabrasion the HydraFacial MD can be tailored to safely & effectively address your specific  skin concerns. The targeted problem/solution protocols were developed to help mitigate some of the most universal skin concerns,  but your trained HydraFacial MD professional can always further tailor your treatment to make it most exacting to your unique needs.  Your skin isn’t like everyone else’s and your treatment shouldn’t have to be either.
