BOTOX® Cosmetic is a safe and effective injectable medication, which is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions, and cosmetically to remove wrinkles and folds. Formally known as Botulinum toxin, Botox, which is a purified protein made from a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, it is the most effective neurotoxin known. As a neurotoxin, when used at the prescribed dilution, Botox has a paralytic effect on the muscles adjacent to where injections are made.  Facial wrinkles, caused by the muscles continually working to form smiles, frowns and various other facial expressions, become more pronounced as you age, often making you look older than you’d like.  The introduction of Botox into these muscles causes them to relax and soften and simultaneously blocks the nerve impulses to them, taking away their ability to contract.  Areas where improved appearance is most noticeable are the forehead, around the eyes and mouth and the neck.  It should be noted, however, that the use of Botox will not have noticeable effects on wrinkles caused by gravity or by sun damage.

When you come to us for your first Botox appointment, we will take your photographs on our very own on-site VECTRA 3D imaging machine. This will allow Dr. Bishara to examine your face through our special software and make any adjustments to your face that you may be interested in so that you can preview how it will look before getting it done. Once you and Dr. Bishara agree on a plan of action, we will take you back into one of our spa-like procedure rooms where we will clean your face, begin numbing you with ice or numbing cream, and begin your injections. It is a quick and easy process and you will feel at ease and comfortable in our care. After coming back for a follow-up appointment so that you and Dr. Bishara can go over your results, you will be able to come to us on a consistent basis for any touch-ups or other procedures you may want.
